World Cup Player Watch
Rice - England - missing due to illness, hope it's not to bad a cold but to be sent home there will be a bit of caution on how he recovers.

Soucek - Czech Rep - played 90 minutes and scored against Kuwait in a 7-1 win. Why he had to play 90 minutes with that kind of scoreline is a mystery to me.

Kral - Czech Rep - came on after 61 minutes, really needed more game time

Coufal - Czech Rep - played the whole 90 minutes, needed to and hopefully no set backs. An assist.

Yarmolenko - Ukraine - 90 minutes in a friendly 1-1 draw with Bulgaria. Needed the minutes. Has a must win game with Bosnia on Tuesday

Vlasic - Croatia - came on in the 54 minute of a 7-1 win against Malta. Croatia have a must win game against Russia on Sunday could start. Useful minutes whatever.

Antonio - Jamaica - plays today in El Salvador after 13hr flight to get there. I'm not sure how these schedules are worked out and if he had to go to Jamaica first god knows. It's a lot of traveling, probably on a Private jet but he'll be exhausted on his return. This game is a must win for both teams. Jamaica have the USA next. They are going to have win most of there last 8 games, pick up 13 plus points and then that might only get them 3rd or 4th which a play off place.
If Jamaica are still in with a shout come the end of January we will lose him for 2 fixtures at least then. For us that's not good so a little harsh but Jamaica have to lose both games . Still a bit bewildered why Antonio decided to choose and play for Jamaica, possibly for a bit of hot sunshine.

Zouma - France - have a fixture at home to Kazakhstan tonight and away to Finland on Monday. He should get some game time against Kazakhstan.

Fornals - Spain - came on as a 65th minute sub in the 1-0 win agaisnt Greece. Could start in the winner takes all game against Sweden on Sunday.

Benrhama - Algeria - has a qualifyer tonight against Djibouti actually in Cairo then a game against Bukina Faso on Tuesday. It's between these two who qualify for 3rd round another winner takes all.

Masukua - DR Congo hopefully will stay there

Re: World Cup Player Watch
Blagg absolutely, you look to sign a player and tell them they're in a fight with Antonio for the striker role, also looking at Antonio's age you emphasise that they're the future

Are we seriously the only Club in the top flight that can't manage this?

Re: World Cup Player Watch
I just don't buy this 'second fiddle / sit on the bench' stuff about Antonio's 'back-up'. Football is a squad game now and any player worth his salt knows he has to bide his time and take the chances that come. If that's the attitude of any player then I'd be seriously concerned. They should be thinking 'I'll sign and when I get the opportunity I'll score 20 a season'.

K Moore probably not the answer but ......

All good points Yesmulady but.. there are enough games with us currently still in 4 compeitions for another striker to feel he has a chance of proving himself and Antonio's injury record also suggersts there opportunities will arise.

We are not unique in the situation where we have had 1 stand out striker who looks garaunteed to start every game, lots of other clubs have had to deal with similar.

For instancem Leicester signed Paston Daka when they have Vardy and Ineacho who scored 15 and 12 league goals respectively last season (both more than Antonio).

Man Utd at one point had Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez and Berbatov.

daveyg - I hope so, would love to see him score a goal like that for us.

Though I'd rather he passed and set up a chance rather than blast it into the stands and waste an attack, providing there's a pass on obviously.

Saw a useful striker in the San Marino game the other day ... Barry Kayne I think he is called.
Worth a look

seeing as your wrong about most things WH then it's a given that he'll repeat it, some time next week I predict.

Re: World Cup Player Watch
Just had a multi billionaire join the board and yet some people would be happy buying that useless cunt Moore who is both shit and wouldn't suit our style of play!!!

Got to start thinking bigger while we're on this crest of a wave, as spurs refused to invest properly in the squad when they were right fucking there and if we do the same, we'll be straight back in the pack.

We're fucking MASSIVE and can get someone proven and decent in.

Re: World Cup Player Watch
Antonio ‘s lack of goals recently is a worry, but a bit stupid to start slagging him. Perhaps that Jamaica goal helps him out.
For us he has taken 5 shots from outside the area this season, 1 was saved, 1 was blocked and 3 missed. After the other night, I hope he keeps going for it with us. He’ll come good, have a bit of faith.

Kiefer Moore is absolute dog and a disgrace to the name.

I personally couldn't stand the way we played any time Carroll was lumbering around up front. Never want a return to that!

Yesmulady

I was thinking the same.... reasonably cheap, better than Hugill! and comfortable on his own.

My worries would be: only a goal every three games or so in the Championship and below...
and his disciplinary record is about a yellow card every three games for Wales - he is quite clumsy...

There have been calls on here for Lyndon Dykes, also...

Re: World Cup Player Watch
Yeah I've got it in for him, he hasn't scored a goal from distance for us ever.. He's always trying.. Law of averages says if you keep trying you'll finally get one, so unfortunately he got it for Jamaica..

Strange to say the least.

Kiefer Moore 🤷🏼‍♂️

Hugill, Dowie, Chapman, Kelly and Radford.

He would fit in that group nicely.

Yesmulady 10:16 Wed Nov 17
Re: World Cup Player Watch
How about taking a punt on Kiefer Moore .
Would be more than happy to be a back up striker, not too expensive, plays as lone frontman.
Obviously be a gamble but there aren't too many who would fit the bill.

I'm sick of him trying it for us, never gets near the goal. Been trying since he's been with us.. Great goal, but don't fancy his chances of repeating it anytime soon.
